Starting as Madison Commercial Ltd., supplying business customers without a website, we have continually developed our product range and online presence. Over the years, we launched dedicated trade and ecommerce websites, expanded our warehouse operation and introduced an ever-growing range of envelopes and postal packaging.

Where It All Began
Madison Commercial Ltd. was established on 23 April 1998 as a family-run envelope overprinting company.
Our First Website
We launched our first ecommerce website, allowing customers to purchase envelopes online.
Board Envelopes Ltd.
We acquired Board Envelopes Ltd. in Nottinghamshire, expanding our range of heavy-duty postal packaging products.
Envelopes Ltd. Is Created
Madison Commercial Ltd. and Board Envelopes formally merged to become Envelopes Ltd.
Investment in Printing
A new digital printing machine was installed, expanding our in-house printing capabilities.
20th Anniversary
On 23 April 2018, we celebrated 20 years in business with a company rebrand and improved ecommerce websites.
Ideal Envelopes
We acquired Ideal Envelopes Ltd. in Sheffield and brought our ecommerce operation together within a larger warehouse.
Envelopes.co.uk Becomes Envelopes & Packaging
In 2025, Envelopes Ltd moved its ecommerce website from www.envelopes.co.uk to www.envelopespackaging.co.uk, reflecting our expanded range of envelopes, postal packaging and ecommerce packaging products.

We continue to develop our product range, invest in our websites and introduce innovative packaging solutions for businesses and consumers throughout the UK.
From Envelopes to Complete Postal Packaging
As online shopping grew, so did the demand for reliable, innovative and competitively priced postal packaging. We responded by expanding both our product range and warehouse operation.
The acquisition of Board Envelopes Ltd. helped us strengthen our range of heavy-duty postal packaging, before the businesses formally combined in May 2013 to create Envelopes Ltd.
In 2018, our 20th anniversary gave us the opportunity to rebrand and introduce new and improved websites designed to make ordering easier for our customers.
In 2020, we acquired Ideal Envelopes Ltd. in Sheffield, enabling us to bring our ecommerce operations together within a larger warehouse capable of housing our continually expanding product range.
